I created this Sketch Summary of Shefali Kulkarni’s TedX talk where she talks about the need for creating a gender-inclusive classroom environment. You can download a copy of the image below.

I watched Shefali Kulkarni’s TEDx talk ‘Gender inclusion, are we guilty?’ and couldn’t stop thinking about it. Her ideas on gender equality and creating inclusive classrooms really hit home for me. I’ve always been interested in this area, and the way she explained it just made so much sense. So I decided to sketch out the key points that stood out to me, both as a way to process them and to share them with others who care about this too.

Shefali Kulkarni is an academician, teacher and advocate of gender inclusion. An attendee at the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language and Teacher Educator conference, she has presented papers on gender issues that have been published by the British Council and ‘Voices’, a leading network of child advocacy organizations. She writes and speaks about relevant, pressing issues in the domain and believes in the need for change.
